“John Wick” was a surprise hit when it came out two years ago, earning favorable reviews and proving a modest box-office success — both of which are relatively rare for Keanu Reeves of late. (“47 Ronin,” which came out a year earlier, is estimated to have lost more than $150 million.) A sequel to the barebones action flick was announced early last year, and now “John Wick: Chapter Two” has a teaser poster (below).
Lionsgate is hosting an hour-long panel for the film at New York Comic Con this Saturday, October 8. Reeves and other members of the cast — which includes Common, Bridget Moynahan, Ian McShane, John Leguizamo, Laurence Fishburne, Peter Stormare and Ruby Rose — will participate in a Q&A after footage from the film is shown.
Chad Stahelski, who co-directed the original “John Wick” with David Leitch, is the sole helmer this time around; Derek Kolstad will once again write the screenplay. “John Wick: Chapter Two” will be released in theaters on February 10, 2017.
