Mark Wahlberg and David O. Russell Working on Biopic About Father Stuart Long

The two have already made three films together.

Mark Wahlberg and David O. Russell have made three films together, and it now looks as though they’re about to make a fourth. During a Facebook Live post recorded earlier today, the actor revealed that he and his frequent collaborator are at work on a screenplay about athlete-turned-priest Father Stuart Long.

“David O. Russell and I right now are working on developing a script on Father Stu, who was an amazing priest from Helena, Montana,” said Wahlberg. “He was a very tough guy who was a fighter, a football player…anything but a spiritual guy. He found his calling, and decided, after falling in love with a woman, that he wanted to become a priest. He suffered from this horrible muscular degenerative disease but was still ordained as a priest and passed away, but not before he was able to inspire thousands upon thousands of people.”

The actor and director have previously made “Three Kings,” “I Heart Huckabees” and “The Fighter” together. This unnamed biopic presumably won’t materialize for quite some time, as both Wahlberg and Russell are currently at work on other projects.
