The Queen of Hollywood Blvd

Logline: The proud owner of a Los Angeles strip club finds herself in hot water over a twenty-five year old debt to the mob, leading her on a downward spiral of violence and revenge through the underbelly of Los Angeles.

Elevator Pitch:

On her 60th birthday, Queen Mary (Rosemary Hochschild) receives a visit from Duke (Roger Guenveur Smith), a gangster who shows up out of the past to take back her beloved, aging Hollywood nightclub, given to her 25 years ago. But Duke is not a guy to be messed with, and to ensure Mary lives up to her side of the bargain, he kidnaps her son Otto. With the help of a teenage runaway named Grace (Ana Mulvoy-Ten) and an old friend Chet (Michael Parks), Mary must navigate seedy Hollywood to save her son, her life, and her club.

About the Film:

We’ve dedicated the film to our beloved, grimy Hollywood Blvd, soon to be covered in luxury high-rise apartment buildings. We wanted to reinvent the traditional male lead role so instead cast an older woman to play the strip club owner, who is unapologetic and kicks ass – and who happens to be the director’s mother. The film is for cinephiles and genre fans alike, who love crime films, beautiful women, and an unforgettable story. With music by the infamous Manson murderer Bobby Beausoleil and appearances by your favorite adult film stars, this movie is truly something you’ve never seen before.

Current Status: We’re fundraising to finish post-production and pay for the sound mix, color, music licensing, and film festival submissions.
