Kevin Smith’s latest twisted comedy “Yoga Hosers” is officially out in theaters and so far the film has been torn to pieces by critics. But that’s not stopping Smith from celebrating the release of his fantasy flick and embracing the horrible reviews.
Teaming up with Ralph Garman, who also stars in the film as Andronicus Arcane, Smith released a video on his YouTube page where they read bad reviews of his film.
“Despite all your best intentions and all the fun that was put into ‘Yoga Hosers,’ the critical reaction has not been, let’s say, good,” says Garman in the 52-minute clip.
Starring Harley Quinn Smith and Lily-Rose Depp, the comedy follows two teenage girls who team up with a man-hunter to battle mini Canadian sausage Nazis.
“Some s**t you understand, and people are going to hate it. This movie, I get people hating it. But you got to understand that for the people who love it, they will really love it,” added Smith.
Around the 17-minute mark, Garman starts to read the reviews from various publications out loud to Smith, who admits that he hasn’t read them and is a bit nervous. After bits and pieces from critiques from The Skinny, The AV Club, Punch Drunk Critics, The Collider and many more, the “Clerks” director voices his opinion on the reviews and defends the film he created.
