“Peyton List is an American actress and model.”
This Wikipedia description is accurate and true. The problem? It’s true about two different people. That’s right. Two Peyton Lists are working actresses and models. Two Peyton Lists are, um, listed on IMDb. Two Peyton Lists are currently on our TVs. Two Peyton Lists are confusing our Google searches. Two Peyton Lists are messing with our minds.
In the face of what would appear to be a surfeit of Peyton Lists, it would be easy to just lump them together or wash our hands of them completely. But that would be a disservice to the work that each Peyton List has put into her career (not to mention lazy).
How can you identify a Peyton List when you see one? IndieWire will break it down for you. Currently, one Peyton List stars on the new CW drama “Frequency.” We shall henceforth refer to her as “Frequency” Peyton List. The other Peyton List is a Disney Channel star and therefore, we’ll refer to her as Disney Peyton List.
Check out our six ways to determine which Peyton List is which:
As you can see from this Wikipedia search below, 12 years separate the two Peyton Lists. “Frequency” Peyton List is slightly older, having been born in 1986 and thus just entering her 30s. Disney Peyton List still rocks the teenage roles since she was born in 1998. Unfortunately, we can’t label them as different generations since they both qualify as Millennials.
2. Hair Color
Although actresses are required to be chameleons, fortunately each Peyton List has consistently stuck by one hair color throughout their careers.

“Frequency” Peyton List is a sultry brunette, while Disney Peyton List has sported various shades of blonde.
It’s very likely you’ve seen the Peyton Lists before on TV or the big screen. Although “Frequency” Peyton List started out as a child star and spent three of her teenage years on “As the World Turns” as Lucy Montgomery, she’s probably more familiar from her adult role. She’s been knocking around The CW for a while with roles on “90210,” “The Tomorrow People” and “The Flash” (as Captain Cold’s sister Golden Glider), and also made quite an impression as Jane Siegel Sterling on “Mad Men.”

In contrast, Disney Peyton List is best known for her childhood and teen roles. She played the younger versions of Katherine Heigl and Kate Hudson in “27 Dresses” and “Something Borrowed,” respectively, was a young bully in “Remember Me” with Robert Pattinson and co-starred in the “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” films. She came into her Disney heyday first with the role of pampered Emma Ross on the sitcom “Jessie” and its current spinoff, “Bunk’d.”
4. New Projects
“Frequency” Peyton List stars in, you know it, The CW’s “Frequency,” a remake of the vaguely sci-fi time travel film of the same name starring Dennis Quaid and Jim Caviezel from 2000. List plays Det. Raimy Sullivan, who inexplicably starts speaking to her dead father through an old ham radio. But the father she’s speaking to isn’t a ghost: He’s her dad from 20 years ago, living his life in 1996. Watch the trailer below:
Disney Peyton List has two new projects, and the first one also involves technology gone wrong. In Disney Channel’s “The Swap,” an app magically switches the bodies of pals Ellie (List) and Jack (Jacob Bertrand) when they wish they had each other’s lives. Here’s the trailer:
In the second project, YouTube Red’s film “The Thinning” depicts a dystopian future in which the population is controlled by eliminating students who fail a high school aptitude test.
5. Other Appearances
“Frequency” Peyton List is a New York-based Ford model and has appeared in a number of print ads (Dooney & Bourke, Ralph Lauren). She also studied ballet at the School of American Ballet and Kirov Ballet Academy and even appeared in “The Nutcracker” with the Moscow Ballet. Peyton List also played the bride in “If I Had a Gun” for Noel Gallagher’s band High Flying Birds. Take a look:
Disney Peyton List has done print ads and a slew of TV commercials, some of which can be seen here:
As for music videos, she may have some of her own coming out soonish since she’s been working on an album for at least a year now.
“Frequency” Peyton List has an older sister named Brittany, who isn’t in the biz. Disney Peyton List, however, has a twin brother named Spencer. We mainly mention this because he is also an actor, they grew up acting side by side, and therefore you may see them together. They recently shared the screen when Spencer guest-starred on an episode of “Bunk’d.”
That’s enough for now, lest you become Peyton List-less. We hope that this has been instructional.
Peyton List’s “Frequency” premieres on Wednesday, Oct. 5 at 9pm on The CW.
The other Peyton List’s Disney movie “The Swap” premieres on Friday, Oct. 7 at 8pm on Disney Channel, and her film “The Thinning” debuts on Wednesday, Oct. 12 on YouTube Red.
