Last year, the rap duo Run The Jewels performed as musical guests with TV on the Radio on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” to much acclaim. Now, the duo has returned to “The Late Show,” but this time not as musical guests, but as collaborators with Colbert on a novelty Halloween song just in time for the holiday. It’s called “The Halloween Wiggle,” and while it certainly jams, Colbert and Run The Jewels might not be on the same page. Watch the segment below.
In the video, Colbert tries to sing a wholesome Halloween song that features sunglasses-clad ghosts and Dracula doing the Halloween wiggle, but Run the Jewels keeps interrupting it with their own hip hop version of the song. Soon, the ghosts and Dracula are joining it while Colbert tries to keep the double entendres and sexual innuendo to a minimum.
Run the Jewels was formed in 2013. Since then, they have released two studio albums, the second of which was named the best album of the year by Pitchfork, and have performed all over the country. They have also released a remix album “Meow the Jewels,” which replaces all instrumentals off their second album “Run the Jewels 2” with the sounds of cats. Their third album “Run the Jewels 3” is in the works.
“The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m. ET only on CBS.
