2016 IndieWire Critics Poll: Carlos Aguilar

Carlos Aguilar

MovieMaker Magazine/SydneysBuzz/One Week Only

Additional Comments:

International animated features such as “Your Name,” “My Life as a Zucchini,” or “The Red Turtle,” prove that the medium can be much more than what studios offer. Similarly, Latin American cinema continued to make waves with incredibly masterworks such as “From Afar,” “Aquarius,” and “Neruda.” What’s outside the US borders gives us hope that cinema is not dead, just growing outside of the lines.
