Hoping that 2017 will go better than 2016 seems like a good way of ensuring that the next 12 months somehow manage to be even worse, but there is at least one good thing arriving in early January: season 12 of “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.” The show, whose surprising longevity has somehow managed not to come at the expense of quality, is marking the occasion with a bevy of short promos. If these brief clips are any indication, the Gang’s antics have yet to slow down in any meaningful way. Season 12 will bring Mac (Rob McElhenney), Charlie (Charlie Day), Dee (Kaitlin Olson), Dennis (Glenn Howerton) and Frank (Danny DeVito) to a waterpark (where, to their own peril, Mac and Dee insist on going down a slide intended for children), a UFC fight and, of course, Paddy’s Pub.

The show has already been renewed for a 13th and 14th season, meaning there’s plenty more where this came from. “It’s Always Sunny” returns to FXX on January 4.
