‘Lost’ Recut Trailer Suggests That the Mystery Island Was Funnier Than We Remember

It’s been six and a half years since we left the island for the last time, but “Lost” still lingers in the mind. Debate continues about the merits of its controversial finale — which was almost perfect, for what it’s worth — and the show’s most devoted fans continue attempting to unravel its unsolved mysteries. One Vimeo user has contributed to the series’ afterlife by recutting a new trailer that makes “Lost” into a comedy. Watch it below.

Centered around the longstanding love triangle involving Jack (Matthew Fox), Kate (Evangeline Lilly) and Sawyer (Josh Holloway), the video hews to the formula of juxtaposing once-serious events with cheerful pop songs: Destiny’s Child, Britney Spears and Kelis are all represented on the soundtrack.

“Lost” aired a total of 121 episodes over six seasons, which ran from 2004 to 2010. The show was known for its cliffhangers and unanswered questions, which both enthralled and frustrated fans.
