As the year winds down to a close, so does the Year in Marvel. “Captain America: Civil War” and “Doctor Strange” may have been received more of a mixed reaction critically, but were both blockbuster smashes, and now Marvel is looking towards next summer to premiere their latest films, including “Spider-Man: Homecoming,” the second reboot of the “Spider-Man” franchise. While an exclusive clip from the film was shown at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, there has yet to be a full trailer for the film. Now, Marvel announced that the first trailer will premiere on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” tomorrow night, but before that, they’ve dropped a teaser to whet the appetites of fans everywhere. Watch the found footage teaser below featuring Peter Parker (Tom Holland) trying out his new flying suit.
This will be the sixth “Spider-Man” film in fifteen years. The first “Spider-Man” franchise began with Sam Raimi’s 2002 film starring Tobey Maguire. The film spawned two sequels, both of which were directed by Raimi as well. The first reboot of the series “The Amazing Spider-Man” starring Andrew Garfield premiered in 2012 and the subsequent sequel “The Amazing Spider-Man 2” was released in 2014. The first glimpse of Tom Holland’s Spider-Man first appeared in “Captain America: Civil War” earlier this year.
“Spider-Man: Homecoming” will be released nationwide on July 7, courtesy of Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures.
