“As many of you know,” Bernal begins in the brief video, “the past 19th of September, a major earthquake struck Mexico at its core.” Luna then chimes in: “As of recent reports, 273 people have died. More than 100 people are still missing. They’re estimating that it’s hundreds of thousands of people that have lost everything.”

“Already we have so much to be grateful for,” adds Bernal. “Across all divides, Mexican society has responded to this earthquake with powerful and inspiring solidarity.” Even so, Luna says they “still need help from those of you seeing this disaster from afar.” The campaign, which has already raised $13,000 within hours of launching, may be found here.
