‘Slice’ Trailer: Chance The Rapper Has a Secret A24 Horror Movie We’re Dying to See

The Grammy-winning rapper teams up with the Oscar-winning studio. What more do we need to say?

Exactly one year ago, A24 announced a secret collaboration with Chance the Rapper. All the studio disclosed was the film, titled “Slice,” was shot in secret in Chicago over summer 2016 and that the story would center around an enigmatic outlaw framed for a killing spree that targets unsuspecting pizza delivery boys.

It’s been a year since A24 has given us any new information about “Slice,” but that changes today thanks to the first official teaser trailer. The clip barely offers any real footage, but we now know Chance will be starring opposite “Atlanta” breakout Zazie Beetz and comedian Paul Scheer. The movie is directed by Austin Vesely, who has been behind the camera for the Chance music videos “22 Offs,” “Brain Cells,” “Juice,” “Sunday Candy,” and “Angels.”

“Slice” has been rumored to be a horror film, and the teaser pretty much confirms that with its slasher movie vibe. Credit to A24 for not giving anything away in the trailer and still managing to raise significant interest in the project. “Slice” will be released sometime in 2018.
