Robert De Niro and Ben Stiller shared the screen many times in “Meet the Parents” and its sequels, but last night marked a first for the two: appearing on “Saturday Night Live” together. They did so during the cold open, with De Niro playing Robert Mueller and Stiller appearing as Donald Trump’s beleaguered attorney, Michael Cohen. Watch below.
Their exchange isn’t a friendly one. Rather, it’s set up exactly like the polygraph scene from “Meet the Parents.” “I’ll start with some easy ones: How’d you like that pee-pee tape?” Mueller says as he warms up the lie detector. From there he asks real questions, like whether Cohen is a lawyer, if Trump knew about the supposed payment of $130,000 made to Stormy Daniels, and what exactly Cohen does for his client.
“So you threaten people?” Mueller asks. “Directly? No. Let’s just say I’ve cut a lot of letters out of a lot of magazines,” Cohen responds. ‘I was just trying to milk some information out of people. So what?”
This appears to trigger something in Mueller. “Did you say milk?”
“Yeah, like with a cow or a goat or a…cat. I mean, you can milk anything with nipples,” Cohen answers, a not-so-sbutle reference to “Meet the Parents.”
“Really? I have nipples. Can you milk me, Mr. Cohen?”
After Cohen protests to his treatment by saying he has rights, Mueller responds, “I don’t know what rights you think you have. You broke the law, and now we’re gonna catch all of you little fockers, you got that?”
