Bryan Cranston Breaks Bad In 'Eye of Winter' With Alice Eve & Logan Marshall-Green

Elevated into critical acclaim with the modest yet affecting short “Windowbreaker,” which in turn led to his 2009 Sundance feature “Children of Invention,” writer/director Tze Chun's career has grown more promising with every new development. The filmmaker's next effo...

Review: Dim-Witted Edgar Allan Poe Thriller 'The Raven' Is Too Boring To Be A Guilty Pleasure

About ten minutes into James McTeigue's "The Raven," a large, hairy man -- a writer and a critic, as it turns out -- is strapped to a table by a mysterious figure. A mighty blade, inspired by Edgar Allan Poe's "The Pit And The Pendulum," hangs forbodingly above him. And to his unseen captor, he scre...

Review: 'ATM' Is An Impossibly Implausible, Hilariously Bad B-Movie

Cheap, slapped-together run-of-the-mill B-movie thrillers are a dime a dozen. And their egregiousness is often not worthy of outrage or scorn because frequently the films are made on the cheap with a knowing eye towards making a buck with direct-to-DVD sales or foreign markets that don’t care about ...

Watch: Alice Eve, Brian Geraghty & Josh Peck Get Stuck In First Trailer For 'ATM'

If you're looking to make your first film, a single-location thriller seems to be a pretty good way of doing it; a small cast, a manageable shoot, and a simple canvas on which to show off your direction (indeed, not so long ago, we ran a list of some of the best of the genre). That's the app...

Alice Eve Joins 'Star Trek 2' As A New Character To The Franchise

Not be rude or crude, but the biggest thing about Alice Eve's Hollywood movie career so far has been her considerable assets. They pretty much did half of the heavy lifting in her role as the braless babysitter in "Sex & the City 2" and the entire plot of "She's Out of My ...

Alice Eve Joins 'Decoding Annie Parker'

After playing the role of “Hard 10” in “She’s Out of My League,” and having her entire “Sex and the City 2” subplot revolve around whether or not her character wore a bra, it’s nice to see Alice Eve take on a role that requires some acting. The British thespian has just signed on to “Decoding Annie Parker,” based on a true story in which Samantha Morton plays the titular role of Parker, a woman who gets cancer and tries to fight it alongside geneticist Mary Claire King (Helen Hunt), who ends up discovering a gene linked to breast cancer. Eve will play a former friend of Parker, ...

Jeremy Renner May Star In 'You’re Not You' With Hilary Swank, Clive Owen & Uma Thurman Go 'Blind'

More Casting Bits: Alice Eve & Liev Schreiber Join Director Mark Pellington, Craig Bierko Will Play A 'Stooges' VillainProducers in Cannes talk loose. There's a bevy of talks, negotiations and (shudder) pre-attachment deals going on around the Croisette this week, but don't be surprised if all the actors announced don't actually appear in the films they're touted to be in (see last year when, for example Amy Adams was listed in the original version of John Hillcoat's "The Wettest County," which died and then came back to life this year). A lot of these are early teasing promises to get investors involved and sometimes they work, sometimes the...

'Men In Black 3' Starting To Sound Like A $200 Million Train Wreck

Film Greenlit With Only One Act Of The Script Ready; New Writer David Koepp Refusing To Talk To Producer Walter Parkes Considering how tricky the genre is to pull off, the original "Men in Black" still stands as one of the more successful stabs at the sci-fi comedy. It's no "Galaxy Quest" or anything, and it derails a bit in the third act, but for the most part it was inventive, genuinely funny and starred a central pair with perfect chemistry. 2002's sequel? Not so much; a bloated, unfunny mess that failed to capture pretty much any of what worked in the original. A third film is, belatedly, on the way, but a fascinating look at the behind ...
