Indecisive Ape Spotlighted In Riveting New Photo From 'Rise Of The Planet of The Apes'

And that indecisive ape would be Caesar, as performance-captured by Andy Serkis, in this brand new shot from "Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes." Caesar appears to be having a hard time deciding whether he wants his beverage to taste great, or to be less filling. He could just ask a human but - oh, cra...

Watch: Trailer For 'Rise of the Planet of the Apes' Has Distinct Whiff Of 'The Happening'

The value of a home-grown franchise for a big studio can't be undervalued, and since they adapted Pierre Boule's novel "La planète des singes" into 1968's "Planet of the Apes," it's become one of 20th Century Fox's key properties, spawning five additional movies, and two separate TV series. But the monkey-heaviest sci-fi series around isn't what it once was, and 2001's Tim Burton 're-imagining' failed to successfully re-launch the franchise, due to being really, really terrible. But you can't keep a good merchandising opportunity down, and the studio have gone back to the well, with the talents of Andy Serkis, James Franco and effects geniuse...

This Summer, You Will Believe A Planet Can RiseThose damn dirty apes at Fox can't stop monkeying around with the next film in the "Planet of the Apes" series. First, they went ahead and offered it to every major director only to be turned down. Then they ordered multiple rewrites despite already having a release date. Finally, they declared June 24th to be the day audiences would see "Cesar," though they had already changed the name to "Rise Of The Apes." Then, of course, they bumped the film to Thanksgiving to allow for more time to finish the special effects. Then, at some point, they must have replaced the special effects guys with wizards...

First Look: Steven Spielberg & Peter Jackson's 'The Adventures Of Tintin: The Secret Of The Unicorn'

Mondays are usually fairly slow news days, but Empire have landed a doozy of an exclusive to start the week off: our first glimpse of one of the most anticipated blockbusters of next year, and the first collaboration between the two biggest directors in the world that aren't called James Cameron. The cover of the latest issue of the always must-read movie magazine, which is out later in the week, has a first look at "The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret Of The Unicorn," the motion-capture adaptation of the popular comic book series by Belgian creator Herge, as directed by Steven Spielberg in his first venture into animation, and produced by ...
