Faroeste Caboclo is a 2013 Brazilian film directed and produced by René Sampaio, starring Fabrício Boliveira, Isis Valverde and César Trancoso. It is based on the song of same name released by Brazilian punk rock band ‘Legião Urbana’ in their 1987 ‘Que País É Este’ album. João do Santo Cristo (Fabrício Boliveira) leaves Salvador, Bahia, in search for a better life and goes to Brasília. There, he meets Maria Lúcia (Isis Valverde), whom he falls in love with and wishes to build a better future. However, his involvement with drug trafficking may ruin everything, as his main competitor, Jeremias (Felipe Abib), becomes his enemy.
