Marrakech Film Festival '11: Terry Gilliam Says Ewan McGregor No Longer Involved In 'Don Quixote'

While the documentary "Lost in La Mancha" drew many comparisons between Terry Gilliam and Cervantes' classical hero, who featured in the director's film "The Man Who Killed Don Quixote," the aborted making of which 'La Mancha' followed, it's perhaps not the most appropriate literary comparison. Inst...

CBS Films In Talks To Buy TIFF Hit 'Salmon Fishing In The Yemen' With Ewan McGregor & Emily Blunt

It's been a fairly quiet market for big film deals at Toronto so far, with the sole major sale -- that of "Shame" to Fox Searchlight -- having been in the works since Venice, and even then, the film reportedly only sold for a six-figure sum, the film's backers placing great importance on being able...

Steven Soderbergh's 'Haywire' Gets January 20, 2012 Release Date

Relativity Media Will Distribute in U.S.Well, that's one film we can take out of awards contention for 2011. One of Steven Soderbergh's upcoming films "Haywire" won't be released till January 20, 2012. The initial date was April, 2011, which Soderbergh confirmed himself, but it was never officially announced; the restructuring deal points took much longer than anyone expected. T...

'Beginners' Star Mélanie Laurent Talks Working With Ewan McGregor, Mike Mills & A Hateful Dog

One of the purest delights of this year's South by Southwest Film Festival was stumbling into Mike Mills' "Beginners," not knowing anything about it (this writer hadn't even seen its artful trailer) and being blown away by its mix of humor, sadness, manageable meet-cute twee and romanticism.
