The Girl on the Train (2013)

As documentary filmmaker Danny Hart boards a train at Grand Central Station, he has no reason to expect anything more than a pleasant ride to upstate New York. Danny is on his way to interview subjects for his latest project. For months he’s videotaped Morris and Rina Herzmann, an older couple who survived World War II as young children in Germany. Their unique yet harrowing love story is not only compelling, but as Danny later finds out, also unexpectedly complex. While heading north on the train, Danny looks through his video camera and pans along the rows of seats. Through his viewfinder, he catches a mysterious young woman as she surreptitiously wipes away a tear. Danny soon finds himself facing off with a determined police detective, an erratic ex-con, an inquisitive cab driver and an ex-husband who turns out to be much more than he seems.
