First Look At January Jones & Elisabeth Moss In Sundance Pics 'Sweetwater' & 'Top Of The Lake'

This Christmas holidays are nearly upon us (damn, that was fast) and while Hollywood will take a brief breather, come January everyone will be packing their bags and kicking off 2013 at the Sundance Film Festival. It's as pretty stellar lineup this year, and in particular, two projects with fema...

How 'Mad Men' Ended Its Season of Old-Fashioned Sexual Politics

Matthew Weiner loves to tease Mad Men viewers and keep them off guard, so of course the season finale refused to give us the expected, explosive plot turn. There were enough of those in the  past few weeks: Joan agreed (yes, agreed) to be pimped out to a client, Peggy quit, Lane killed him...

January Jones & Ed Harris Will Drink The Revenge Flavored 'Sweetwater'

The big screen career of "Mad Men" star January Jones has been a bit of a mixed bag. She earned acclaim and attention for her turn in Tommy Lee Jones' "The Three Burials Of Melquiades Estrada" but has otherwise floundered. The less said about "Seeking Justice" the b...

Exclusive: Mad Men - Set Me Free

In this remix musical, the women of Mad Men get together to sing the 1966 Diana Ross hit, Keep Me Hanging On. A metaphor for both the rigid gender roles of the time and the much anticipated season of Mad Men, the mash up is an example of the ongoing connection between remix culture and new media ...

Review: 'Seeking Justice' A Rote, Generic Thriller With A Dialed Down Nicolas Cage

This is a slight paraphrasing of the truth. A couple of years ago, an eccentric award-winning actor had a choice: He could star in an unreasonable amount of movies of declining quality, stockpiling paychecks as his reputation and brand diminished. Or he could sell his dinosaurs bones and castles to ...

Where Did This Come From? Trailer & Pics For 'Justice' Starring Nicolas Cage & January Jones

Well, this is a weird surprise. We have to admit, we had pretty much entirely forgotten about "The Hungry Rabbit Jumps." First announced way back in September 2009, the film stars the pretty promising trio of Nicolas Cage, January Jones and Guy Pearce in the Tobey Maguire-produced film about a man (Cage) who becomes involved with an underground vigilante organization after a brutal attack on his wife (Jones). And with Roger Donaldson ("The Bank Job," "Thirteen Days," "No Way Out") -- who is no stranger to making genre fare classier than it should be -- directing, and with comparisons to "The Game" and "Strangers on a Train" being tossed aroun...

'X-Men: First Class': The Good, The Bad & The Ugly

By this point, it's more than likely that you've checked out "X-Men: First Class" (although its underwhelming box office suggests that there were fewer of you than we thought). And, if the film's strong exit scores are anything to go by, you, like most of The Playlist team, found it as entertaining ...
