Review: Straight-To-DVD 'The Courier' Hopes You Like Your 'Transporter' Glum, Boring & Cheap

Justice has a new face! And that face is sleepy! The appeal of actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan seems to lie in the suggestion that he’s giving his performance right after he just woke from a nap. This makes him the perfect leading man for “The Courier,” a new action thriller hitting DVD this week. Directe...

Review: 'The Possession' Wants To Be 'The Exorcist' But Comes Off Like A Lesser Episode Of 'The X-Files'

In "The Possession," a new horror movie from Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert's Ghost House production shingle, a young girl becomes infatuated and then, yes, possessed by a dubious Jewish spirit that had been kept imprisoned in a wooden box. Peace, Love, & Misunderstanding—movie review

Not every movie is, or has to be, an Event. Sometimes all I ask of a film is that it offer a pleasant diversion for an hour and a half. That’s exactly what I got from Peace, Love, & Misunderstanding. I fear it may get a critical drubbing during the heated atmosphere of the current movie se...

Five Ways In Which Ike Evans of 'Magic City' Is Like Don Draper

If "Magic City," the new drama kicking off tonight, April 6th, at 10pm on Starz, had started back in the fall, it would have been grouped in with "The Playboy Club" and "Pan Am" as similarly hollow-ringing, a pretty period piece consciously following in the steps of &qu...

Review: ‘Texas Killing Fields’ Is Often Intense & Bruising, But Ultimately Frustrating & Uneven

Exhibiting immense technique, incredibly moody, tense atmospheres and meticulously crafted aesthetics, the dark crime thriller, “Texas Killing Fields,” demonstrates that director Ami Canaan Mann has inherited some serious skills from her famous filmmaking father Michael Mann.

Watch: Sam Worthington & Chloe Moretz In Moody Italian Trailer For 'Texas Killing Fields'

The most surprising pick in the line-up of the Venice Film Festival was undoubtedly "Texas Killing Fields." The latest attempt from "Avatar" star Sam Worthington to return to non-tentpole territory, following the tepidly received "Last Night" and the long-delayed "The Debt," is a based-in-fact thril...

Sleepy-eyed Jeffrey Dean Morgan has signed on to open the "Dibbuk Box." The horror film, slated for a Halloween 2011 release, will showcase Morgan as "a recently divorced father whose youngest daughter becomes strangely connected to an antique wooden box she purchased at a yard sale.
