“I Give It A Year” drops today in the U.K., and while U.S. distribution still hasn’t been secured, the rom-com’s SXSW stateside premiere in March should guarantee that someone picks it up. Witha cast of US-friendly faces including Rose Byrne, Anna Faris, Minnie Driver and Sim...
Read More »We’re really looking forward to “I Give It a Year,” particularly after the first couple of trailers, which showed a lot of promise and included Minnie Driver uttering the immortal line: “I’d ruin Bieber.” The film will star a whole host of people who are hard not to like, including Stephen Merchant,...
Read More »Perhaps no genre of film has as low a rate of return as the romantic comedy. Even horror films have the occasional subversive festival gem to prop up fan interest every so often, but serious fans of the rom-com are reduced to getting their jollies from the amiable, but botched likes of "Crazy Stupid...
Read More »Considering it was one of the most profitable films of 2011 -- $97 million in ticket sales off a paltry 1. $1.5 million budget, that’s a lot of profit-- we’re surprised this wasn’t announced sooner. Rose Byrne, Patrick Wilson and director James Wan will all return to reprise the...

Read More »Frankly, you could shoot Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn doing their taxes, then mowing the lawn and having a nap, and we'd probably watch it and love it. Those dudes crack us up ("Wedding Crashers" rules, "Starsky & Hutch" is pretty hilarious) so thank God for Shawn Levy (w...

From the first episode, itʼs clear that as an attorney, Ellen wants to be Patty – she tries to emulate her ferocity and single-minded devotion to that all- important case – but doesnʼt literally want to step into her shoes (this isnʼt All About Eve). Despite fissur...
Read More »Last time I checked this show stars Glenn Close. Can't tell from this video. Show will air only on Direct TV (no network crossover like there was with Friday Night Lights), Show returns on July 13th.
Read More »Women took up the mantle and went to see the film. The gross was about $24.5 (UPDATE - $26.2) million about $10 million more than predicted. I don't know who does the predicting on these types of films but they missed the boat on this one big time. I know they wanted to keep expectations down because the mantra was (and seems always is with a film about women) that this is unprecedented and there is nothing to compare it to. I'd like to now retire these delusional thoughts. Women have starred in successful franchises, action movies and comedies. Maybe we just need to start keeping our own statistics to help people out. (Who wants to wor...
