Liev Schreiber, Sally Hawkins & Romola Garai To Star In Ruari Robinson's Sci-Fi 'The Last Days On Mars'

Is there a curse of sci-fi movies set on Mars? We don't believe that, but there's plenty of evidence to support that theory, with virtually every film set on our nearest planetary neighbor -- from "Mission To Mars" to "Red Planet" from "Ghosts Of Mars" and "Mars Needs Moms" to "John Carter" -- all d...

'Junebug' Director Phil Morrison Returns With 'Lucky Dog' Starring Paul Giamatti, Paul Rudd & Sally Hawkins

It seems directors coming out of the wilderness is a trend that's going to continue in 2012. "Made in Dageham" is inspiring in that (wo)man-against-the-world sort of way, and its talent and historical basis are compelling enough that you don't have to feel guilty. Sally Hawkins (so great in "Happy-Go-Lucky" and, well, everything) is sympathetic but strong as Rita O'G...

film review: Never Let Me Go

I came to this film knowing nothing about it, except that it was based on the highly-acclaimed novel by Kazuo Ishiguru. I had no foreknowledge of its story or premise—and I’m glad.

    AN EDUCATION

It isn’t easy being a sleeper nowadays. There’s been so much buildup for An Education, which has traveled the film festival circuit since Sundance in January, that it’s difficult for ordinary moviegoers to feel as if they’re discovering it for themselves. I hope inflated e...
