Kicking off the start for her most likely successful award season, Cate Blanchett will be honored at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival with the 2014 Outstanding Performer of the Year Award. The 29th edition of the Festival which runs between January 30th to February 9th 2014, chose Blanchett for her role as Jasmine French in Woody Allen's critically praised film "Blue Jasmine".
"In her first collaboration with master director Woody Allen, Blanchett knocks it out of the park in the best performance of her already illustrious career," remarked Roger Durling, SBIFF Executive Director. "We're so grateful to be able to celebrate her achievement."
