'12 Years a Slave' Tops SAG Award Nominations

Steve McQueen's "12 Years a Slave" led the 20th annual Screen Actors Guild Award nominations. The film took 4 nominations, including a best ensemble nod and mentions for Chiwetel Ejiofor, Michael Fassbender and Lupita Nyong'o. Just behind were "August: Osage County," "Dallas Buyers Club" and "Lee Daniels' The Butler," each of which managed 3 nominations.

The nominations featured some surprises in the exclusions of Robert Redford ("All Is Lost"), Tom Hanks ("Saving Mr. Banks," though he did get a nod for "Captain Phillips"), Octavia Spencer ("Fruitvale Station") and "The Wolf of Wall Street" altogether, though perhaps not enough voters got a chance to see Scorsese's latest.

On the TV side of things, "Breaking Bad" led the crop with 4 nominations, while "Modern Family," "The Big Bang Theory" and "30 Rock" each took 3.
