The 8th annual Tallgrass Film Festival will run October 22-24 in Wichita, Kansas. The festival will begin with Ryan Piers Williams' "The Dry Land" and will end with a screening of Charlie Chaplin's silent masterpiece "The Kid." The Chaplin film, which will be played with a live accompaniment, also ends Grasscendo, the fest's spotlight on musically themed films. Included in Grasscendo are the docs "Everyday Sunshine: The Story of Fishbone" and "Still Bill," the profile of Bill Withers, and an award presented to "Dexter," "Election," and "Up in the Air" composer Rolfe Kent. The fest, whose theme is "Films on the Fringe" this year, will screen 41 features and 83 shorts this year.
