2012 Emmy Predictions: The Comedy Categories

Photo of Peter Knegt By Peter Knegt | Indiewire July 16, 2012 at 1:12PM

It was yet another very strong year for comedy television, with veteran series -- and Emmy favorites -- like "30 Rock," "Parks & Recreation," "Modern Family" and "Curb Your Enthusiasm" all having standout seasons. Add that to more questionable Emmy favorites like "The Big Bang Theory," and to a big crop of  newbies both as-yet-unseen ("Veep," "Girls") and already acclaimed ("Enlightened," "Life's Too Short," "Up All Night") and it should make for a pretty interesting Emmy race.
