I'm so tired of 'Modern Family' dominating these awards. It's like they fall in love with one series in drama and comedy and just shower those shows with awards year after year even when they don't deserve it any longer. And BTW, I'm still not sure why Parks and Rec gets more critical love than Community. Is it the Amy Poehler/SNL thing or something else?

I want Emma Rossum to be nominated!

Ugh, Lena Dunham, the actress, is the worst part of 'Girls.' I know that this is indieWire and all that but, come on. She'll get nominated for her writing, and maybe even her directing (the Jody Lee Lipes episodes were actually the best ones though), but if she ends up the only nominated actress from the show, God help us all since we'll be seeing her act more. Bleh. 'Enlightened' seems like the HBO frontrunner anyway, for virtually all of the categories (Dern, Ladd, Wilson, plus the writing-directing-producing team). 'Veep' felt overly mannered, but Julia will likely sneak into a nom. Plus, given your arguments, 'Glee' ain't going anywhere. Whether it's as good as it was before or not, they stage some of the best things on TV and it's unafraid to inject realness into the show (sometimes to its earnest detriment). It shouldn't win, but Jane Lynch, and Chris Colfer, and the show runners made a good comedy series this year. That said, Max Greenfield is a future Emmy winner, this year or next, despite Burrell's genius as Phil.

Has anyone seen Modern Family this year? It was not as nearly good as the past two. If the emmy voters have common sense they wont give the award to a show that had a so-so season. My prediction would have Modern Family at #4 or #5 and Parks and Rec winning if life was fair.

I'd love to see some Community noms. Donald definitely. And strangely, I think Gillian had a really strong season this year as Britta.

Where is Sutton Foster for "Bunheads"???????????????

  • Michael Ornelas | June 16, 2012 4:02 PMReply

House of Lies should be toward the top of the Strong Newbies list, if not Very Possible. That was easily a top comedy this year. Writing was ridiculously good.

Where's Happy Endings? Much better than New Girl.

  • DJ | June 1, 2012 7:39 PMReply

It has already been confirmed that Jon Cryer is submitting Lead this year.

  • Jody | April 1, 2012 11:13 PMReply

Max Greenfield for "New Girl", most definitely.

It's so exciting how strong this category has gotten. Just think, three years ago Family Guy was a nominee.

Random thought though, for Supporting Actress I would add Mayim Bialik, Wendie Malick, and Eden Sher as possibilities. All three have been phenominal this season. And don't forget about Cloris Leachmann

  • Psyche | March 15, 2012 5:54 AMReply

I'd put Mayim Bialik on the list for Best Supporting Actress for The Big Bang Theory as well.

  • Josh | April 2, 2012 5:45 PM

Agreed, she has be incredible this season

  • Alice | March 15, 2012 8:52 AM

Me too. She's been fantastic this season.

    The Fallen Favorites?
    14. Glee

Im not a fann of glee but this season have a great chance get it emmy nominations, dont have a solid season not yet but a very good when compared to the seasom 2, and this year we have a great performances example chris colfer, lea michele and naya rivera

And Jon Cryer going to lead, 9. Zooey Deschanel, New Girl??? she have more chance that laura linney

  • PaulH | March 13, 2012 12:28 PMReply

Kristen Bell in comedy SUPPORTING Actress? She's the lead on H of L. No effin' way. Why should she be on the wrong end of Showtime-imposed category fraud so overrated Falco, Linney and Louise-Parker can get first dibs on lead comedy actress?
