Sure, Sunday tends to be overcrowded with high-end TV, including "Shameless," "Girls," "Californication" and "The Walking Dead," but what to watch the rest of the time? Every Monday, we bring you five noteworthy highlights from the other six days of the week.
"LA Shrinks": Series Premiere
Monday, Mar. 4 at 10pm on Bravo
It takes a special type of person to agree to have his or her highly personal therapy sessions broadcast nationally on television, and an even more special type of shrink to want the same. The folks at Bravo have managed to find enough of both to stock their newest reality show, "LA Shrinks," which looks at the professional and domestic lives of a Los Angeles psychologist, a relationship therapist and a life consultant, offering footage of their sessions with clients as well as their own issues at home.
"The Staircase Last Chance": "Reopening the Case"
Monday, Mar. 4 at 10pm on Sundance Channel
Oscar-winning documentarian Jean-Xavier de Lestrade 2004 miniseries "The Staircase" was a gripping true crime saga about the trial of Michael Peterson, who was accused of murdering his wife. Sundance Channel's been airing the original series in preparation for the premiere of "The Staircase Last Chance," a sequel in which de Lestrade pays a visit to Peterson, who was released from prison in 2011 and is awaiting a new trial. "Reopening the Case" is the first of two new episodes about the case.
"Kim Novak: Live From the TCM Classic Film Festival"
Wednesday, Mar. 6 at 8pm on TCM
Kim Novak's interview with TCM host Robert Osborne from last spring's festival in Hollywood gets its world premiere, kicking off a night of her films, including "Bell, Book and Candle" at 9pm, "Picnic" at midnight, "The Man With The Golden Arm" at 2am and "Of Human Bondage" at 4:15.
"Delocated": Series Finale
Friday, Mar. 8 at 12:30am (Thursday night) on Adult Swim
Jon Glaser's deadpan mockumentary about a Witness Protection reality show comes to a close with a one-off half-hour episode, "The Frrt Identity," which finds "Jon" (Glaser) waking up in New York City with amnesia and having to figure out who he is -- a not uncomplicated task.
"Grimm": Spring Premiere
Friday, Mar. 8 at 9pm on NBC
With its recent dire ratings across the board, NBC's probably happy to have a minor hit like "Grimm" back on the air. The supernatural procedural returns after a four-month break with "Face Off," in which Nick (David Giuntoli) tries to deal with the knowledge that his bespelled girlfriend Juliette (Bitsie Tulloch) is magically drawn to his boss, Capt. Renard (Sasha Roiz).
Also worth a look: Amy Heckerling directs "Hush Hush," the latest episode of "The Carrie Diaries," on Monday, March 4th at 8pm on The CW; Nick Kroll's sketch comedy series "Kroll Show" closes out its first season on Comedy Central on Wednesday, March 6th at 10:30pm.
