1. Xbox Gets Original: Xbox Entertainment has greenlit its first original program, a series of nonfiction films about the digital revolution, from Lightbox, a new multi-platform media company just launched by Academy Award-winning producer Simon Chinn ("Searching for Sugar Man," "Man on Wire") and Emmy Award winning producer Jonathan Chinn ("American High," "30 Days"). The first film in the series will investigate the events surrounding the "great video game burial of 1983" when Atari Corporation, confronting negative responses to "E.T. the Video Game" reportedly buried millions of unsold game cartridges in New Mexico. Zak Penn ("X-Men 2," "Avengers") will direct the first film. 2. Vine Vanity URLs: If you've got a verified Twitter account, as soon as tomorrow, you can get a vanity URL for your Vine profile, Twitter announced and Mashable reports. Otherwise, you'll have to wait a few days until December 23rd when non-verified tweeters can get their own vanity URL. But it's not just about vanity, it's about branding, so it might be worth considering getting your own name brand URL.

3. Netflix in 4K: Netflix will begin experimenting with offering streaming content in 4K Ultra HD on select Internet TVs, beginning with the second season of “House of Cards,” Variety reports.

4. iTunes 2013 Indie Hits: Though iTunes doesn't separate out indie films from its overall ranking of top movies of 2013, they have an editorially driven selection of their favorite indies of the year available in the iTunes store, including "The Way, Way Back," "The Spectacular Now," "Blackfish," "Before Midnight" and "Stories We Tell." 5. "Nostalghia:" Kino Classics will release Andrei Tarkovsky's "Nostalghia" (1983) on Blu-ray and DVD in a new HD transfer from archival 35mm film elements on January 21, 2014. Watch the trailer below:
