92Y and Starz have announced a special advanced screening of the premium cable network's upcoming time traveling drama "Outlander," based on the best selling novels by author Diana Gabaldon. The screening will be followed by a Q&A with Gabaldon, executive producer Ronald D. Moore, and cast members Caitriona Balfe, Sam Heughan and Tobias Menzies. The event takes place on Monday, July 28 at 8pm.
A hybrid epic of romance, science fiction, history and adventure, the ambitious "Outlander" tells the story of Claire Randall (Balfe, in a potential breakthrough role after supporting turns in "Escape Plan" and "Super 8"), a married combat nurse from 1945 who is swept back in time to 1743. In the past, her heart becomes torn between the man she is forced to marry, a young Scottish warrior named Jamie (Heughan), and her husband from her original time (Menzies).
Visit 92Y's website for more information on the event. Tickets start at $29.
