Last year turned out to be quite the year for the studio A24, with box-office successes like "Ex Machina," "While We're Young," "The End of the Tour" and "Amy," plus a slew of Oscar buzz and a recent Golden Globe win for Brie Larson in "Room." Now, it seems that they are prepping 2016 to be another biggie as well, with news that they have brought on Sasha Lloyd to be their Head of International.
In this new role, Lloyd will oversee all film and television distribution and business development in the international marketplace. She has already had an extensive career in the entertainment industry, representing Lionsgate, The Weinstein Company and DNA Films during her time at Goldman Sachs.
"Sasha is a very exciting addition to the A24 family," said A24 in an official statement. "We have collaborated with her previously, and she has always impressed us with her expertise, ingenuity, and intelligence. She is exactly the kind of dynamic executive we want to be part of the company as we continue to grow."
Sasha will be based out of New York. A24 is bound to be a big presence at Sundance at the end of the month, and they currently have the critically acclaimed horror film "The Witch" set for nationwide release on February 19.
