“Agnes,” “Burma VJ” Among European Film Award Doc Nominees

The European Film Academy has announced the nominations for the 2009 European Film Award “Prix Arte” for Best Documentary. A total of ten documentary films are nominated.  This year’s documentary jury will now convene in the Vilnius, Lithuania to screen the nominated films and decide on the winner, which will be announced at the 22nd European Film Awards on December 12, 2009. Last year, Helena Trestikova’s “Rene” beat out James Marsh’s Oscar winning “Man on Wire” in this category.
