We're only a summer movie season away from "Ain't Them Bodies Saints" August 16 release date, and we've just been given our first taste of the Texas-set drama starring Casey Affleck and Rooney Mara. Director David Lowery's brother, Benjamin Lowery, painted the attached image of Bob Muldoon and Ruth Guthrie, and while there's still no news for the trailer, the image will certainly suffice for the time being.
"Ain't Them Bodies Saints" tells the 1970s-set story of an escaped prisoner (Affleck) looking to reunite with his wife (Mara) and meet his daughter for the first time. After premiering at Sundance earlier this year, Lowery's genre-bending indie also played over the weekend at Cannes. It's garnered strong reviews thus far and appears poised for a solid run at the end of summer indie box office.
