"Akeelah" and "Sweet Land" Bookend 30th Cleveland International Film Festival

Lionsgate Films' "Akeelah and the Bee" will open the 30th Cleveland International Film Festival (CIFF) on Thursday, March 16th the event unveiled Friday. The film is described by the festival as "a heart-warming drama directed by Doug Atchison and starring Laurence Fishburne, Angela Bassett, and Keke Palmer, is set to open nationwide on April 28th. Closing the festival March 26th is "Sweet Land," described as "set post WWI in Minnesota, about a Swedish emigrant who is a farm owner and needs a wife to fill his home and fulfill his dreams of America."
