Alamo Drafthouse Cinema has announced its plans to open a new location in Kalamazoo, Michigan. The theater is expected to open in mid-2013.
"Kalamazoo reminds me a lot of our hometown of Austin with its strong economy, large university, great beer scene and solid arts community," said Alamo CEO Tim League in a statement. "We are very excited about this opportunity and to become a part of the neighborhood."
As frequenters of the cinema chain know, Drafthouse combines dinner, drinks and films, to bring first-run movies, indies and special programming events to the movie-going public. The Kalamazoo location will boast 10 screens, with seating to accommodate 900.
