The Hamptons International Film Festival's SummerDocs series will kick off on June 4th with a screening of Cindy Meehl's "Buck," winner of this year's Sundance Film Festival Audience Award. James Lipton is tapped to host the event's opening night.
Alec Baldwin will play host for the remaining screenings, beginning with Andrew Rossi's acclaimed "Page One: A Year Inside the New York Times."
Here's what Baldwin and the festival's Director of Programming had to say, per the release:
“I am looking forward to continuing the series with interesting films that lead us to great conversations,” said HIFF Board member Alec Baldwin. "SummerDocs is quickly becoming one of the best series out east in the summer and I'm excited to be presenting another new group of films in 2011." Hamptons International Film Festival Director of Programming, David Nugent, adds “Documentaries are always among some of the most interesting films of the year, and we are pleased to continue such a special program. BUCK and PAGE ONE represent the finest non-fiction films of the year. They’re both great films, and I think are a perfect fit for our audience.”
Additional SummerDocs screenings will be announced at a later date.
