'Amour' Leads European Film Award Nominations; 'Rust and Bone' Snubbed

Other major nominees included Steve McQueen's "Shame," Christian Petzold's "Barbara," Olivier Nakache & Eric Toledano's "Intouchables," Thomas Vinterberg's "The Hunt" and Paolo & Vittorio Taviani's "Caesar Must Die."
Each of those films will compete against "Amour" in the best film category, which snubbed Nuri Bilge Ceylan's "Once Upon a Time in Anatolia," Tomas Alfredson's "Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy," Roman Polanski's "Carnage," and Cristian Mungiu's "Beyond The Hills."
Each of those films found nominations elsewhere, though notable snubs entirely included Miguel Gomes' "Tabu" and Jacques Audiard's "Rust and Bone." The latter's lead actress Marion Cotillard is probably the most shocking snub of all, losing out to Emilie Dequenne in "Our Children" and Kate Winslet in "Carnage." And while Leo Carax's "Holy Motors" is also absent, it actually wasn't eligible as it did not make the EFA's selection list.
The winners will be announced at a ceremony in Malta on December 1.

WTF! Cotillard deserved that nomination ! I say bullshit to the fucking Intouchables which is a movie that made more than $80 millions just in Germany !

I have a feeling that votes will split between Riva and Cotillard during the Oscars voting. I really dissappointed regarding Marion. She definitely created the best performance by female this year so far.

These awards are foolish. These awards are german so you can understand why so love to Haneke (who worked many times in Germany) and why so many nominations to boring Barbara.
These EFA of 2012 are the worst of all time. Rust and Bone should been nominated but I hope the Oscar has better taste than EFA. Marion Cotillard must be nominated and win her second Oscar.
