Ang Lee has been announced as the president of the 66th Venice Film Festival's main competition jury. Lee - two-time winner of the festival's Golden Lion, for "Brokeback Mountain" in 2005 and "Se, Jie" (Lust, Caution) in 2007 - will preside over a jury that includes American director Joe Dante, French actress Sandrine Bonnaire, Indian director Anurag Kashyp, and Liliana Cavani and Luciano Ligabue, both Italian.
The jury will deliberate on eight main festival prizes, including the Golden Lion for best film, the Coppa Volpi for best actor and actress, the Silver Lion for best director and the Special Jury Prize.
The Venice Film Festival is scheduled for September 2-12, 2009. The festival is expected to be announcing its full schedule today, so check back with indieWIRE.
