"April Showers" are 'here!' in May

Trish Doolan's romantic comedy, "April's Shower" has been acquired by independent production and distribution company, here! Films, the company announced yesterday. The film, which also stars Doolan and "Queer Eye for the Straight Girl"'s Honey Labrador, will be released in May. here! Films' executive vice president of distribution and acquisitions, Mark Reinhart negotiated the deal with Pejman Partiyeli's international sales outfit +Entertainment, who represented the film's producers, Christopher Racster, Bill Shaffer as well as Doolan and Labrador.
The movie, according to a release, revolves around April and Alex, two former best friends, who had at one time been more than platonic. This secret is kept until the tension between them is revealed at a bridal shower that Alex throws for April, where the mad-cap guests are ill-prepared for the secrets about to be revealed. The film explores heterosexual marriages, lesbian relationships and true love. The cast also includes Maria Cina, Frank Grillo ("Blind Justice") and Randall Batinkoff ("For Keeps").
