Two Miramax releases picked up prizes, with "The Wings of theDove" winning for Highest Grossing Limited Release Film, grossing $12million plus to date and "Shall We Dance" won for Highest GrossingForeign Film, having amassed over $9.5 million to date. FoxSearchlight's best picture hope, "The Full Monty" won for BreakthroughFilm of the Year, picking up over $42 million in domestic box office andnearly $215 million worlwide to-date, while being budgeted at acomparitively measly $3.5 million."In 1997, there were 270 limited releases that cumulatively grossed $192million to date. That equates to an average gross of $712,000," saidACNeilsen EDI President Marcy Polier in a prepared statement. She added,"These three over-achievers each outdistanced the average by more thanten-fold."
