The Sundance Institute has announced that it will be hosting a ShortsLab in Los Angeles next month. The focus of the lab will be exclusively on short-form documentary filmmaking.
Unlike most of the Institute's other Lab programs, the ShortsLab is a ticketed event and therefore does not require filmmakers to submit an application of any kind. Filmmakers who decide to attend will participate in a day-long seminar that consists of both screenings and question/answer sessions with prominent documentarians, as well as the Sundance Documentary Film programming team.
Per the Institute's press release, featured speakers include: Rodney Ascher ("Room 237"), Academy Award nominee Kirby Dick ("The Invisible War"), Lauren Greenfield ("The Queen of Versailles"), AJ Schnack ("Kurt Cobain: About a Son"), Academy Award nominee Lucy Walker ("The Crash Reel") and Tabitha Jackson, Director, Sundance Institute Documentary Film Program).
For more information and to purchase tickets, which retail at $75, you can visit the ShortsLab page on the Institute's website.
