Austin musicians Nakia and Suzanna Choffel will appear at the Awards show, along with Grammy-winning Latin funk orchestra Grupo Fantasma.

This year, the 12th annual awards show will move from the Austin Film Society's east Austin Studios campus to ACL Live at The Moody Theater downtown—adding accessibility and the capacity for multiple ticket tiers. For the first time, it will be possible to offer $250 and $75 tickets making the event available to young professionals, aspiring filmmakers, actors, crew, and other creatives. The show will take place on March 8th, the evening before South by Southwest Film and Interactive festivals.
Past honorees have included Renée Zellweger, Robert Duvall, Willie Nelson, Matthew McConaughey, Dennis Hopper, Forest Whitaker, Sissy Spacek, Terrence Malick, Cybill Shepherd, The Dixie Chicks, Billy Bob Thornton, Peter Fonda, Mike Judge, Ann-Margret, Lauren Bacall, Woody Harrelson, Bill Paxton, Dennis Quaid, and Ethan Hawke.
