The winners of the 13th annual, always eccentric Satellite Awards were announced by the International Press Academy, with Danny Boyle's "Slumdog Millionaire" and Mike Leigh's "Happy-Go-Lucky" winning the Best Motion Picture categories for drama and comedy or musical, respectively. "Slumdog" also took awards for best director and best score, while "Happy"'s Sally Hawkins won for best actress in a comedy or musical. Other major winners included "The Visitor"'s Richard Jenkins and "Changeling"'s Angelina Jolie in the dramatic lead acting categories, and "Ghost Town"'s Ricky Gervais for best actor in a comedy or musical.
