Band Featured in Film about Iranian Rock Scene Found Dead in Brooklyn Murder/Suicide

A still of The Yellow Dogs in "No One Knows about Persian Cats."

Members of The Yellow Dogs, an indie rock band formed in Tehran and based in Brooklyn were reportedly all found dead in their East Williamsburg, Brooklyn apartment after one of the members, who had been kicked out of the band, allegedly carried out a murder-suicide.

The Yellow Dogs were one of the bands featured in Bahman Ghobadi's "No One Knows about Persian Cats," which opened the Cannes Un Certain Regard section in 2009.  The film is held together by a narrative that takes place in the Tehran underground music scene, and it takes breaks along the way to feature bands in the music scene there.
