Logline: Untold stories of lovelorn queens of Berlin fighting to tear down a new, invisible, wall which is the basis of our isolation.
"Berlin Transgression" tells the stories of transvestite, transgender and transsexual artists who struggle between two genders, two identities, two lives. This project sheds light on the day and night life of the artists who perform mostly at local gay bars and fetish clubs. These artists allow us not only backstage but also into their homes where they open their hearts to us about their deepest dreams and desires. We follow their fight to tear down a new, invisible, wall.
Directors: Joel Lei, Yuki Terada

About the Film:
If one believes that stories cull filmmakers, we are culled by stories of drag queens in Berlin: their daily worries, dreams, passions, heartbrokenness, desires to be loved. We are a group of Berlin-Tokyo based independent filmmakers. Having spent more than one year with our characters whom we first met by chance in a local gay bar in 2014, and having been touched by their genuine openness, we decided that this film needs to be seen by a broader audience. Because this community we encountered in Berlin has something precious and unconventional to offer to the war-torn, hyper-individualistic society today.
Current Status: We are fundraising for our post-production fund.
