Berlinale Adds 9 More to Competition; Includes New Film by Jafar Panahi and Steven Soderbergh's Latest

The 63rd Berlin International Film Festival has added nine more films to its competition lineup, including one shocker of an addition: a new feature from "This Is Not a Film" director Jafar Panahi, who remains under house arrest in Iran. The film, titled "Closed Curtain," is co-directed by "Cafe Transit" helmer Kambozia Partov and will make its world premiere at the festival, which runs Feb. 7-17.

Also in competition for the Golden Bear: Steven Soderbergh's Rooney Mara-headlined thriller "Side Effects"; the biopic "Camille Claudel 1915," starring Juliette Binoche in the titular role; the latest Catherine Deneuve vehicle, "On My Way"; and "The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman," starring Shia LaBeouf and Evan Rachel Wood, which premieres at Sundance before making its way to Berlin.

Wong Kar-Wai's anticipated martial-arts epic "The Grandmasters" kicks off the festival on Feb. 7. Below are the nine new competition entries, listed alphabetically:
