From Sexiest Man Alive to Palm Springs Honoree: Bradley Cooper to Receive Achievement Award

Bradley Cooper in 'Silver Linings Playbook'
The 24th annual Palm Springs International Film Festival (PSIFF) will honor Bradley Cooper with the Desert Palm Achievement Award for his role in David O. Russell's "Silver Linings Playbook" at its Awards Gala on January 5, 2013 at the Palm Springs Convention Center. The event will be hosted by Mary Hart, and the cast of "Argo," Sally Field, Helen Hunt, Naomi Watts and Robert Zemeckis are also slated to receive awards.
"Cooper's portrayal of Pat Solatano is a career best performance that has created Oscar buzz and has audiences rooting for him despite the challenges he faces throughout the film," said Harold Matzner, Festival Chairman. Mr. Matzner went on to convey how pleased PSIFF is to present the 2013 Desert Palm Achievement Award for Acting to Cooper, who will join the ranks of past honorees such as Jeff Bridges and Daniel Day-Lewis.
The Festival runs January 3-14.
