Workplace drama is something everyone has to deal with, but rarely blows out of proportion. Animosities must be restrained for the betterment of the office and everyone in it. That doesn't mean those feelings go away. In fact, the good folks behind Brian De Palma's new office-set crime drama, "Passion," are hoping you've saved a few emails and are dying to share. To promote the recent VOD release and upcoming theatrical release of the film, distributor eOne Films has released an exclusive clip to Indiewire starring Rachel McAdams and Noomi Rapace, as well as a new Tumblr account titled E-vil Emails. The purpose of the interactive web page is as follows:
"In 'Passion,' Christine (Rachel McAdams) is a powerful executive while Isabelle (Noomi Rapace) is her hard-working prodigy. In a dog eat dog world, competition is going to get fierce and coworkers are bound to get their toes stepped on if they aren't on top of their game. Things can get nasty real fast if something goes awry. E-vil Emails is the worst of the worst in the workplace: tales of lost tempers, backstabbing, humiliation, and more. While this kind of behavior is surely something to experience On Demand and in theatres, we've created a place where these stories can come to life. We're inviting you to submit your nastiest, most embarrassing, incriminating, and horrible work emails you've ever received or sent. Surely you have some drafts in your inbox consisting of things you wish you could really say to your boss. There must be a time where a coworker threw you under the bus and you just wish you could anonymously vent about it! Don't hesitate, send your e-vil emails our way to email@example.com."
Once you're done watching the tense interchange between McAdams' manipulative boss and Rapace's brave up-and-comer, head over to the Tumblr page to check out a rather well done gif of a hard-at-work Rachel McAdams and the latest batch of scandalous emails sent in from real people with workplace drama.
"Passion" is available now via VOD. It's scheduled for an August 30 theatrical release.
