As the 2011 Tribeca Film Festival approaches winds down the festival's audience award tracker has Lee Hirsch's doc "The Bully Project" leading the pack thus far, followed by three more docs: Michael Collins' "Give Up Tomorrow," Tony Hardmon and Rachel Libert's "Semper Fi: Always Faithful," and Dori Berinstein's ""Carol Channing: Larger Than Life".
"Bully Project" follows a handful of bullied children across the country, as their constant schoolyard abuse becomes symbolic of a larger national dilemma. indieWIRE's Eric Kohn reviewed the film over the weekend, saying the film "never fails to provoke a strong reaction." The Tribeca Film Festival continues through May 1st. Check back with indieWIRE this Thursday, April 27th for coverage of the awards ceremony.
