The life and work of filmmaker Garrett Scott will be celebrated on Monday (April 24th) in New York City at the IFC Center (323 Sixth Avenue, NYC). Ian Olds, Jem Cohen, and others will participate in a program that will include clips from his films "Occupation: Dreamland" and "Cul De Sac: A Subhurban War Story". Organizers are inviting those who knew Garrett Scott personally, as well as those who were touched by his work. The memorial will run from 7:45 p.m. - 9:45 p.m. and will be followed by a reception. Garrett Scott died last month, days before winning the Truer Than Fiction prize at the Independent Spirit Awards (an honor he shared with Ian Olds).
