Cinemark Makes Deal to Buy Century

Movie theater chain Cinemark USA is planning to acquire Century Theaters, according to the Los Angeles Times, continuing the consolidation of the theater business. The combined company would be the 3rd largest in the country with 4,395 screens. The leading theater owner is Regal Entertainment with 6,383 screen, followed by Loews Cineplex Entertainment with 4,437, according to the LA Times.
